ABOUT US

The Women Empowerment Cell of Bijni College is dedicated to empowering women and promoting gender equality. It aims to create a safe and supportive environment for women, addressing the challenges they face. It aims to advance women’s social, economic, political and legal empowerment, with an emphasis on decision-making. Activities and initiatives undertaken by the WEC include organizing workshops, seminars, and talks on gender equality, women’s health, and women’s rights. The cell also provides counseling and support services to women who have experienced discrimination, harassment or violence. The vision of it is to create a society where women’s rights are respected, and they are strong, effective and well-resourced to achieve their goals.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF CONVENOR

Implementation programs that promote women empowerment & gender sensivity.
Ensuring a safe & secure environment for girl students, faculty and office staff in the college.
Conducting gender sensitization programs for girl students.
Organising workshop, seminars & popular talks on issues like gender equality, legal right & self-defense.
Supporting academic growth of students, researchers and faculty through its key publishing outlets: the peer-reviewed journal Pratibha and the ISBN-certified book Anwesha.
Conducting Institutional Gender Audit & Reporting it to the Principal through IQAC
Maintaining records of Meeting Minutes & activities conducted by the Women Empowerment Cell.

FACULTY MEMBERS

Conducting lectures and discussions on gender equality, women rights, and on women related social issues.
Acting as a mentor to female students providing academic and professional guidance.

STUDENT MEMBERS

Representing student concerns relates to gender issues.
Leading girl students for participation in training sessions on women’s rights, digital safety and mental health.
