Student Mentoring Programme
BIJNI COLLEGE
About Us
Student mentoring system of Bijni College is a structured framework that pairs faculty members with small groups of students to support academic progress, personal well-being, extracurricular activities and career development.
Core Objectives
• Academic Guidance: Monitor attendance, track exam performance, and help bridge knowledge or skill gaps.
• Personal & Emotional Support: Offer a safe, confidential space to discuss stress, campus adjustment, or personal difficulties.
Extracurricular Activity Support: Help student-athletes and club members balance heavy training or practice schedules with academic deadlines. Act as a trusted sounding board to reduce student burnout, stress, and isolation. Connect discipline on the field or in clubs (such as teamwork, resilience, time management) to academic and career success. Represent students when academic accommodations are needed for official tournaments, matches, or club events.
• Career & Goal Setting: Assist with proper guidance, job trends, higher education paths, and resume building.
• Bridge Communication: Act as a primary point of contact between students, parents, and college administration when challenges arise.
Typical Structure & Responsibilities
• Faculty Mentors: Assigned a specific batch of students upon admission and expected to meet regularly (bi-monthly or at critical semester junctures) to review progress diaries and offer counselling.
• Institutional Oversight: Monitored and evaluated by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and department heads.
