Brief History of the Department

1. The Department of Bengali, Bijni College was established from the session 1970 -71 while the college was established on 21 July, 1969.
2. At the beginning of Bengali Department there was only P.U. (Arts) which was permitted 1970-71 and it was affiliated on 1971-72 by G.U. T.D.C.(Arts) was permitted on the session 1971-72 and it was affiliated on 1974-75 by G.U.
3. The Elective paper of Bengali was permitted on 1996-97.
4. In 2015 -16 academic session Major course introduce.

Objective :

To  inculcate creative and critical sensibilities within the students through objective and interpersonal interaction .

Vision :

To disseminate the values of humanism by the preparation of global citizens through the blending of diversities  and imbibing the teachings of great personalities.
