Brief History of the Department

The department of Education, Bijni college was introducing with the establishment of the college on 21^st July, 1969. .At the beginning there are only P.U. arts classes. The permission for degree part-I & part-II classes was obtained from G.U. from the session1972 and 1974-75 respectively. The major course in the department was introduced from the session 1998-99. In the same year it has been affiliated with the same. Miss Mira Saha served as the head of the department from the very beginning and retired in the year 2006.  After the retirement of Mira Saha, Mrs Ratna Bhattacharjee had taken the charge up to 30/ 11/2011.At present, the Department has only two regular and two contractual teachers and the college has been affiliated with Bodoland University since 2021.

Objectives :

Help the students to achieve excellence not only in academic life but also in their real life.

Vision :

To impart dynamic knowledge to the students useful for practical life and achievement of academic excellence.
